About

MEGAN YIP

My mission is to help you and your family plan for your future,
face the legal challenges of death today, and gain clarity and peace of mind when it comes to life’s toughest questions.

About Megan

In my practice, I have devoted my career to assisting individuals like you to face tough times and to plan for the potential challenges of the future.

I went to law school to help people navigate the systems that govern our lives, and my work with the Borchard Foundation Center on Law & Aging, Legal Aid of Marin, and as an Advisory Board Member of the Sacred Dying Foundation have guided me to develop a practice that addresses the real needs of people facing hard questions.

When it comes to estate planning, the fact that I also practice post-death administration means I know exactly how to protect you from potential complications down the road. When it comes to post-death administration, I am able to not only walk you through your current challenges but serve as an ongoing guide to things are in order.

During my years working at Twitter, I developed the company’s critical best practices on post death digital assets and established myself as a legal expert in the space. This means that I offer a critical additional expertise to all my work with estate planning and post-death administration.

Finally, I am committed to educating on the important issues in the space. Through my writing and speaking, I help estate planning attorneys, tech companies, individuals and organizations address how to better plan for difficult situations presented by incapacity and death. In a world with an ever-changing tech landscape, I provide tools and resources to help you determine what to do with digital assets.

Testimonials

“I reached out to Megan to work with me on my Father’s estate after he passed away. It was a difficult family situation and got very complicated as we tried to unravel it. My own feelings and emotional state only added to the difficulty. Megan was excellent at counseling me on both the legal issues and my legal standing in the estate. She was very good at “talking me down” when my emotions just got too heated to think things through clearly. I was immensely grateful to have her counsel and her advice. I recommend her highly as a counselor and legal advisor.”

“Megan is one of the most broad-thinking and passionate legal services attorneys that I’ve had the pleasure to work with.”

Navneet G.

Attorney

“Even though I’m a health care professional, I had not done adequate estate and advanced directive planning and I knew I needed to consult with an attorney. Luckily, I was put in contact with Megan Yip by a friend. She made the process approachable, was supportive of our questions, and gave us good advice. With her help we were able to create a will, a living trust and an advance medical directive. I would highly recommend Megan’s services to anyone doing estate planning.”
